I have finished my latest musical – “The Rainbow Fish” for primary schools. You are free to download all the songs, pdf and music and if you want to hear the tracks with the words you can find them here.
The script is below.
I’ve scored the music for voice, flute, clarinet, piano, bass and drums as we have musicians who play these instruments in my school. You are very welcome to adapt any of the MuseScore files and if you would like a different instrument, if you contact me on Twitter I will make you part.
Song 1: The Rainbow Fish
This song is for the beginning and end. It’s got claps in it – children like claps!

Song 2: Starfish Grime
This is my attempt at grime. It’s not very grime really but you can’t really get grimey with a clarinet and flute. It’s got a rap which could be for a soloist or groups.

Song 3: Jelly Jive
This is just the handjive so you need to know the handjive actions (pat, pat, clap, clap, over, under, mashed potato, mashed potato, twirl, twirl)
Song 4: Parrotfish
This is a sweet waltz. It’s very cute.
Song 5: Lionfish Danger
Lionfish are an invasive species in certain parts of the world. They are creating havoc on some coral reefs as they do not have any natural predators. The story is that people tipped pet lion fish into the sea in Florida and from only six lion fish all the millions in the Atlantic are direct descendants. If you don’t know much about lion fish, the one thing you need to know is that we need to be eating them as currently nothing else is!

Song 6: Turtle Rock
Let’s ROCK!. Simple rock song with actions a bit cribbed off Iron Butterfly. Writing a rock clarinet part is certainly something different…
Song 7: Dolphin Disco
Keep your disco moves going with the dolphins. Nice song with groovy baseline.
Song 8: Lobster Cha Cha Cha
The lobsters click their claws to the “Lobster Cha Cha Cha”. This is a rather unusual song but I really like the flute part in the end.

I hope you enjoy the songs and the script. If you want to put the musical on I’m not asking for any payment but if you could drop me a message and say that you are doing it I would be interested to know!
